Kentucky Governer Elect Wants To Study Brent Spence Bypass Idea

GRANT COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) — Kentucky’s new governor wants to look at building a 70 mile bypass instead of replacing the Brent Spence Bridge.

A regional home builder introduced the multi-billion dollar idea. The four- lane “Cincy Eastern Bypass” would connect to interstate 75 in Springboro in Warren County and Crittenden in Grant County.

Republican Governor-Elect Matt Bevin opposes tolls to pay for a new bridge. He said he supported studying the bypass despite it by-passing Covington and Cincinnati and opposition from Ohio’s governor and other local leaders.
